I have recently acquired a Gleaner Baldwin Pull type combine that My late Uncle HP Loftin from Kinston NC purchased new. It is a model 52S serial Number 5163. It has been in a dry Shed since 1960 and is complete and in real good condition . It has a VE4 Wisconsin engine . Serial number for the engine is 1744547. The engine is stuck and not operable at the present time. This unit is the only one I have seen that does not have a grain tank on it . It has a platform where the tank would mount with a bench seat built into it.(it appears to be like this from the factory) The top of the elevator that runs up to this platform has a twin bagging attachment on the head of it . The person sitting on the bench apparently bags the grain and ties up the bags once it is full . There is a factory made chute that runs down the side of the machine from this platform to the rear of the machine. The chute has a gate on the bottom of it with a rope running from the latch on the gate up to the bagging platform. i assume the bagger person puts the bag on the chute and when he gets ready, he pulls the rope ,opens the gate and the bags slide to the ground behind the machine to be picked up later . Does anyone else have a machine like this one?Can anyone help me determine the manufacture date for this machine? Does anyone know where I can get a repair or operators manual for this machine? I would like to get this machine field ready before next harvest . I may try to pull it with my draft horses . Any ideas out there ? Thank you for any help or information you may could give me .
