1) First Self propelled Gleaner combine in 1923- The Fordson tractor mounted combine.
2) First Standing Corn Combine in the 1930's with the first Corn head
3) One of the first companies to offer a Hillside combine with the Model AH combine
4) Center-line design on the Model A Gleaner SP combine which offered better weight distribution and better balanced combine
5) One if not the first Brands to offer tracks as a factory option on combines.... Believe the CR Rice special was the first Gleaner available with tracks
6) One of the first brands to offer a "Hydrostatic" transmission drive for the combines, starting with the F, G, and GH combines. No more clutching to shift gears. Believe Hydro drive was optional first on the GH
7) First on the market with an 8 row Narrow Corn head for the Model "G". Biggest corn head Deere offered at the time was a 6 row head on the 105 and later 7700.
8) First Electric push button controls on the L and M combines. Introduction of the famous Gleaner Swivel unloading auger.
9) First Conventional combine with a 200 bushel Bin capacity, 8 row corn head capability, heads up to 30 feet with the L2, later L3
10) The only Transverse Rotary combine to be built and is still in production today in the new S9 series.
11 First "Class 7" combine with the introduction of the N7 Gleaner in 1980, also first with the 12 row corn head.

I thought Gleaner was also working on a Rotary design as far back as the 1920's and 30's but it got canned at the time to focus on the conventional combine market.

First rasp bar threshing.
First to use an auger conveyor in the head instead of a canvas.
First rock protected cylinder using an ejection door.
First quick attach heads. Not quite as handy as the later quick attach but way better than the competition which took all day to switch heads. On Dad's 1961 E which used wedge pins, if you had the head setting right on cement or blocked correctly you could switch heads in 10 minutes.
First production rotary combine. There were 500 built, I think it was in 1931 give or take a year. You can still find the patents online.
I believe Gleaner was first to offer a variable speed header drive. Used to vary the speed of the corn head.
I believe also they were first with a monitor to signal a full grain bin.
First with automatic foldind grain bin extensions. 1979 L2 and M2.
First with auto auger swing option. Push the button once and the auger swings all the way out and push once again and it folds all the way back. No need to hold the button.
First with automatic reel speed. Reel speed can be set to be in sync with ground speed.
First with a walk around engine bay.... N series.
