After Duetz- Allis and Gleaner quite production of the Gleaner conventional combines in 1986, that was not the end of the Conventional Line completely yet.
Down in Mexico at the old AC Mexican plant they started building the "L4" Gleaner combine in and around 1990 to I believe 91 or so. All I know is that the "L4" Gleaner still had the DA color scheme like the 86 L3's had. Apparently the combine still had Gleaner on the combine, and I think Allis Chalmers might still have been on the cab. Not sure. Biggest change was that the "L4" Gleaner had a Cummins Diesel in them vs. the AC engine.
I have only seen a picture of 1 L4 Gleaner that had 2wd, so I am not even sure they made any of the L4's with RWA. Then again AGCO and Gleaner put a stop to production on the L4 combine when the figured out what was going on in Mexico.
I wonder how many of the L4 Gleaners were actually built? Do know the cab interior was a Gray/ White like the later R60's had.
